Like a lot of people, I think Autumn is the best time of the year. From the beautiful colours and crisp air to the cosy days and wrapping up warm, the fashion is better and there’s no more sweating in the sun – the list goes on; fall is the best season.
For a lot of bloggers, Autumn is also the time to step up your Instagram feed. I know so many people get so excited for a new theme on their page to fit in with the season, and there’s so many opportunities for themed content – Halloween, Bonfire Night, Thanksgiving.
However, it’s pretty easy to get stuck in a bit of a rut with Instagram content, I know it’s happened to me so many times. And with the days getting shorter, darker and colder, getting shots for the gram can get a bit tricky. So, I’ve put together the ultimate guide to Autumn Instagram inspiration! Whether you’re looking for general ideas, or ideas for your specific niche, this guide is full of fall vibes to get you inspired to create content for your page.

Speaking more generally to start with, I think it’s pretty easy to change up your feed with the use of colour filters. Autumn Instagram is full of yellow, orange and brown tones as well as darker, moodier filters. If you have an iPhone, I really recommend using the ‘Vivid Warm’ filter in the photo editor. It adds a fab tone to the image, and it can help you make sure all your photos match! If not, Instagram itself has plenty of filters, I recommend ‘Slumber’ and ‘Sierra’, or using the Colour Shadows and Highlights option to add an orange hue.
Also, you can mix up your actual images! If you’re using props, switch out the bright colours of summer and add in neutral, earthy tones. Bring in wood and a touch of gold, I recommend using cosy knitted jumpers, blankets, candles and even some leaves from your garden. Towards Halloween, add some pumpkins in to really add to the theme! If you’re looking for backgrounds, a park full of gorgeous fiery fall tones or a cute independent coffee shop make the perfect photo opportunities as well.
Even just adding these small elements to your pictures can transform your feed from the bright colours and sunshine of summer to the intense reds, oranges and browns of Autumn. But, if you’re looking for more specific post ideas for your niche, below are some prompts and themes to help get your creativity flowing. Absolutely loving that you show your photos as examples of your tips in action! I love fall leaves as a background and there is nothing like coffee, candles, and chocolate to speak of fall.
