My usual everyday make-up routine consists of shoving on all the basics as quick as I can so I look presentable for work in as little time possible. Even though I’m not doing that at the moment – why wear make-up when I’m on my own working at home all day – I find myself sitting down on a weekend to put some make-up on and really making much more of an effort.
It sometimes seems a bit pointless to be putting so much make-up on for no one to see but I really enjoy it and it fills up an hour or so when there’s nothing else to do! As I’ve been doing this, I’ve been playing around much more than usual. I’ve really nailed putting on false eyelashes – I was so bad at it before – and I’ve started experimenting with colour.
As I’ve been paying that little bit more attention to my make-up, I’ve been looking at what new products I could add to my collection. Instagram has been a huge inspiration as I constantly see beautiful images of bright and colourful products with gorgeous glossy packaging and I just want it all! I’ve also been reading different blogs to see what other people recommend and I’ve come up with a list of bits and pieces I’d love to add to my make-up bag!
Hopefully my list of 5 beauty products I’m lusting after will give you some inspiration too. Or, if you’ve tried any of these, leave me a comment and let me know what you thought.

1. Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in ‘Pillow Talk’
I’ve wanted this lipstick for the longest time but for some reason I’ve never bought it. It was a toss up between MAC’s ‘Velvet Teddy’ or this and I always went with the former. I’ve actually heard such good things about the whole Pillow Talk collection and I’d love to be able to try it all.
2. Revolution Conceal & Correct in Green
I’ve been looking for a green concealer/colour corrector for a while. I’ve got a lot of redness at the moment after a major breakout has started healing and I really want to try using colour correcting products to combat it. I really like the regular concealer from Revolution so think this one could be a good one to try.
3. IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream
At the start of Spring, I started looking for an alternative to heavy foundation for my skin base during the summer months. Normal, high coverage foundations is great for winter but I really want something lightweight and low coverage. I started researching and this one always came out on top so I really want to give it a go. The only thing stopping me is the price. If I love it, I don’t want to keep spending £30+ to replace it!
4. Morphe The James Charles Artistry Palette
As I mentioned before, I’ve been playing around with colourful eyeshadows at the moment. I’ve tried a bright pink 80s inspired look and a glittery green and gold creation but I’ve been really wanting to try out something with an electric blue shade. This palette has pretty much every vibrant colour I could want!
When I was younger, I was so scared of having a dewy base and always went for a matte finish. Now I’m a bit older, I really appreciate that healthy glow. I’ve always wanted to try a more high-end foundation and I’ve heard such good things about this one. I want to order it online but would be so worried about spending all that money on the wrong colour!
Are any of these on your wishlist? What else do you recommend?
I’m obsessed with the IT Cosmetics CC cream. Just like you, I had put off purchasing it for ages but eventually I took the splurge and it’s honestly so worth it – especially because a little goes a long way with it.

The Nars Foundation sounds amazing and I always hear people raving about it. If you end up getting it you should consider doing a review on how you find it 🙂 I always read reviews and blog posts on beauty products before I buy them because I get too scared to commit hahah

I think I will! I’m going to wait a while to get the Nars foundation as I already bought the IT Cosmetics cc cream but I’m going to do a review of that soon! Thanks for reading x

OOOH! I feel you about the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick. I have a sample size one and it is so cute and smells great!! I’ve heard so many great things about NARS but haven’t tried them yet. Having a healthy glow goes a long way!! I have been looking into highlighters lately. We’ll see! Thanks for sharing!

I’m so tempted to buy it! I really recommend the Becca champagne pop highlighter! Or the sleek solstice palette, there’s loads of good dupes for more expensive highlighters in that one!

I loved that muted, yet not too subtle lipstick tone! I like to wear shades more toward the pink side of the color wheel, so I love this.
