Shirt Dress || Summer Style

I’ve never done an outfit of the day post before! I never really felt comfortable in front of the camera instead of just behind it but I’ve actually liked the outcome of recent photo shoots so my first one is now upon us! Hopefully it’ll be the first of many!

So, today, I wanted to share my outfit with you! Apologies for the creases – who has time to iron?!

This has been the perfect spring/summer transition outfit for me! The shirt dress suits both seasons and can be paired with different items accordingly. On warmer days, I love to wear it with sunnies and sandals but when it’s a little colder, a denim jacket and converse look fab, too! I feel like it looks so feminine and cute but quite smart, too, and I’ve been loving wearing it to lunch dates as well as evening drinks. It’s quite thin material so it’s perfect for those days when it turns out hotter than you thought it was going to be in the morning – one of those rare items of clothing that seems to beat the unpredictable British weather!

I bought this shirt dress quite a while ago now but I recently went into Primark and they’ve brought it out again this summer so it’s available if you want to get your hands on it! I have to say, it is quite short on me and I’m 5’3 so I’d definitely try it on before you buy it, no matter how tall you are! I wasn’t keen on the original belt that came with the dress so this is my own but the one you get – a brown, plaited one – isn’t too bad. If you don’t like it, you can easily replace it with another one like I did!

What do you think of shirt dresses? It took me a while to find one I liked but now I have this, hopefully I’ll be rocking it throughout the summer!

Shirt Dress – Primark
Belt – H&M (here’s a similar one)
Sandals – New Look (here’s some similar)
Sunglasses – River Island (my sister’s, but I found some here from ASOS that look the same)
Pom-pom hoops – New Look
Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour in Pink Blink – Superdrug
Barry M Nail Polish in Popsicle – Superdrug

    I love shirt dresses, they’re such a cute summer must-have and so easy to just throw on! Absolutely adore the sunglasses and earrings, they make the outfit and I totally agree about the crease thing… Aint nobody got time to iron, ha!

    You look so good! That casual sort of style really suits you. I’ve never been brave enough to do the whole shirt dress thing but you seem to have found the perfect one for us 5’3 girls so I might have to pick one up when I’m in town next.

    I’ve got a similar shirt dress to this from Primark but because I’m 5’11 it’s so short on me I could never actually wear it as a dress haha! This looks fab on you but I’m the same I hate ironing so it’s very rare I wear it as it creases so bad!

    I do love a nice shirt dress, but I don’t think I’ve found the right one for me yet! My sizes are so off, I’m small and tall all at the same time so I end up looking like I’ve got a mini dress on 🤦🏽‍♀️

    I love this on you, the way you’ve styled is perfect. I’m in love with the sunglasses!
