May Favourites

It’s been so long since I’ve done a monthly favourites post. I have to admit, these are some of my favourites to both write and read!

May has been a bit of an odd month. It started off with a lot of Uni deadlines – I had three within a week! But I powered through, submitted them and then focused on revision for the exam I had at the end of the month. As soon as my exam was over, I was free from Uni until September and spent a bit of time with my friends and family but mostly, I just relaxed. The past few months have been a bit hectic with Uni and a number of other things which I might go into in a different post but I’m finally feeling a sense of calm and achievement at having managed to survive it all!

So, my favourites this month are a mix of things but a selection of stuff that I’ve been loving through the busy Uni month!

Nip + Fab Exfoliate Glycolic Fix Overnight Purifying Gel

Although this is in my May favourites, this has been a staple in my skincare for a few months now. I picked this up a while ago and I was really excited to try an acid-based product after hearing really great things. This is such a great exfoliator and so different from anything I’d tried before. I can see instant results when using it and love the smoother skin and smaller pores it gives.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

This was the third Urban Decay palette I’ve got my hands on and I have to admit, I mainly bought it because it was on offer and it would complete my collection. But, it’s surprised me and actually become my favourite out of the three main Naked palettes! I’ve been absolutely loving this throughout May and the pink tones have been incredible for spring. I’ve really enjoyed using a mixture of colours to create different looks but also just using one all over my lid, especially Trick.

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour in Be My Baby

After seeing so many adverts for these lip products, I really wanted to try one. I think this is my favourite matte liquid lip product that I’ve got my hands on and I’ve tried so many! This is the perfect pinky-nude and matches so many different make-up looks. The staying power is fab and I rarely have to top it up through the day! I’m going to have to get so many more of these – I’ve already bought a more pinky toned colour called Pink Blink and I have my eye on a purple and red, too.

Barry M Gelly Nail Polish in Acai Smoothie

My favourites always seem to include a nail polish. And its usually a Barry M one, too! I always go on the hunt for a new colour but I feel like I’ve got all of them! However, I found this one and thought it was different enough from my others to get it and I absolutely love it. Its such a pretty colour for spring and summer and I think it makes my hands look so pretty, especially when they’re all dressed up in rings.

Still Me – JoJo Moyes

I’ve written about this series before. If you want to read that, you can find it here. I was waiting for this book for so long – I couldn’t wait to find out what Lou was getting up to next! When I got it, I finished it within a few days and absolutely loved it! I recommend the whole series – you’ll fall in love with Lou and her crazy antics! I think I’m going to write about this book in a lot more detail in another post so if you’re interested in that, keep an eye out!

Love Island

I’m so late to the party on this one! When Love Island was on last year, I had no interest in watching it. I thought I would hate it and it 100% was not my type on paper. However, when it was put on Netflix and I had nothing else to watch, I thought I would give it a try. I went straight to Season 2 and I was addicted! I finished it within about four days. I’m so excited for it to start again this year – I’m going to be glued to my TV every night to get my fix!

I hope you enjoyed this post. I absolutely love doing favourites posts, as well as reading them as I love to have a nose at what other people are loving!

That Naked palette has some stunning shades! I have Naked Heat and Smoky but I don’t get much use out of smoky anymore as I’m more a warm toned girl, need to try and do some more looks with it though! Rimmel Stay Matte liquid lipsticks are one of my favourite drugstore formulas after the Maybelline Super Matte Inks, the shade ‘Fatal Kiss’ is my go to at the minute!

I definitely think I prefer Heat to Smoky – it’s on my wish list! I love the warm tones in the Naked 3 palette, definitely prefer them to the cooler ones. And I’ve not tried the Maybelline ones, I’ll add them to my list for next time I pop into a shop!! X

Smoky was an impulse buy with Modern Renaissance in my first Sephora shop whilst in Vegas, looking back I wish I’d picked up Sweet Peach instead but oh well! The Maybelline ones are fab! Hope you love them!x

I think it definitely is! I loved the second book the most I think but the third was really good! It’s in a new setting so it’s slightly different to get used to but the characters, both new and old, are so good and it was another emotional one! Definitely recommend reading it xx

Oooh it sounds good then!! I was a bit sceptical of picking it up because I just didn’t know where they could take it further, but i’ll definitely give it a go xx

I completely agree! I was worried about that too but I think it’s just right – exactly what Lou needed. I do think the story should end with the third book though! Xx
