Welcome to Day 3 of Blogmas!
My last two posts have been easing us into Blogmas but today, I’m going full out festive – starting as I mean to go on!
Today, I’m writing about what I do to feel festive and get in the Christmas spirit. If you’re anything like me, you’ve been feeling festive since mid-October and your excitement is just growing and growing! If you’re not and need a helping hand, I thought I would list a few of the things that make me feel festive to get you into the Christmas spirit!
Walk round the department stores – as soon as the Christmas decorations are out in shops, I love to have a wander round John Lewis and Debenhams. I don’t really buy anything, but I love to see the Christmas displays! Also, I find that people are so much happier around Christmas time and although it’s busy, it’s nice to be around the festivity in the shops!
Burn festive candles – this makes me so excited for Christmas! I personally relate a lot of memories and feelings to smell so candles are perfect for helping me feel festive! I like apple and spice scented candles to make me feel festive!
Have some Christmassy drinks – I’m not really a hot drink person but I do like the odd hot chocolate to feel festive. You can also pop down to your local coffee shop and see what Christmas coffees they do! I’m loving the mint hot chocolate from Costa!
Go out and look at the Christmas lights – whether it’s the Christmas lights in town or the lights put up on houses, seeing them is a way to instantly feel more festive!
Watch Christmas films and listen to Christmas music – This is something I’ve been doing for a fair while now! I don’t want to go into too much detail as I’ll have some posts coming on this later on but festive films and songs make me so happy and I couldn’t do Christmas without them!
Start buying Christmas presents – I love receiving presents as much as the next person but I also love planning presents and buying them for other people too, perhaps even more. Doing this makes me so excited for Christmas day so I can give people what I’ve bought them!
Decorate my bedroom – I like to add a few touches to my room to make myself feel more festive! I have some great festive bedding – Asda is brilliant for this – as well as an abundance of fairy lights and maybe even a small Christmas tree in the corner!
Wear Christmas PJs – last year, I bought myself and my sister matching Christmas pyjamas and I have many other pairs from Christmases past and there’s nothing nicer than snuggling up in festive cosy PJs!
I hope this post gave you a few tips on how to feel festive, or just gave you an insight into how I feel festive! I would love to know if you have any other things that make you feel festive!
