Blogger Recognition Award

A few days ago, I was nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award by the lovely Hollie. You can find her here. It honestly makes me so happy to be nominated for things like this. I’ve been blogging for nearly 3 months now and I’m so thankful when anyone is even a little bit interested in what I have to say.

The Rules:

  • Thank the blogger that nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Give a brief story as to how your blog started.
  • Share two pieces of advice for new bloggers.
  • Choose 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to.
  • Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them, providing a link to the post you created.

How My Blog Started:

I’ve been interested in blogging for the majority of my teen years and discovered many of the YouTubers I watched via their blogs and always thought it was something I would like to do. I even started a blog when I was about 13 but was too scared to actually post anything. I’m now 19 and at Uni but all the writing I do is essay based and I really wanted to do something more creative. I thought about blogging whilst at Uni but decided I wouldn’t have the time. However, after finishing my first year, I was sat at home with two weeks before I started my summer job with nothing to do and a desire to write (I missed writing essays!?). I finally plucked up the courage to actually start a blog and here we are now! It’s exactly what I wanted it to be: a creative outlet that gives me the opportunity to write.

Advice for New Bloggers:

My first piece of advice is to not put too much pressure on yourself. If you don’t have any motivation or can’t think of any ideas, don’t worry about not posting anything. You most likely made your blog for yourself, not other people, so if you’re not feeling it that day, that’s fine! Also, if you want to just put anything out so your blog is up-to-date, that’s 100% fine too but I know that I always feel better when I’m proud of the content I’m putting out and I haven’t rushed it.

My second piece of advice is don’t think you have to stick to one category. Some people like to be known as strictly a lifestyle or beauty or travel blogger, or whatever category they choose, and that’s fine if you want to do that! But don’t feel like you have to do that. Your blog should be whatever you want it to be so if that means it’s a bit of beauty, some lifestyle and the odd travel post too, go for it! Basically, you do you and be proud of it!

Thank you for nominating me lovely! I agree with the second piece of advice so so much! When I started my blog, I thought I had to stick to one type of post but now I’m branching out into so many types and I think restricting yourself, will soon make you think of blogging as a chore! x

Thank you for nominating me! Really appreciate it! I was the same, well I started my blog before uni but totally forgot about it whilst I was in my first year because the work load / and tbh the lifestyle is just so distracting! Keen to stick to it when I start second year (also good luck to you!)! Will try to get my post up as soon as possible too!!
