Hi!
Last weekend, myself and a few friends from Uni went to visit our friend in York. We’d had this trip planned for quite a while and I’d been looking forward to it for so long!
Therefore, today, I thought I’d share some pictures from my trip!
Luckily, our trains got in within 5 minutes of each other and after stopping to buy some pizza for dinner, we made our way to Emma’s house. We stayed just outside of York, in Pocklington, but it wasn’t a very long drive into the city. We decided to go to a local pub where we thought there was a gin festival on. It was actually the next day but we still got a G&T anyway. I’m not the biggest fan of tonic water – give me gin and cranberry and I’m happy – but I tried elderflower tonic and it wasn’t too bad!
The next day, we popped into town and went to Swirlz for ice-cream. I got a ‘Moo-caroon’ (the name gave me much joy) which was a macaroon with ice-cream in the middle. I chose the raspberry-ripple one which was delicious but there was also vanilla and mint choc-chip.
After this, we went for a walk in the Yorkshire countryside. We wandered up to the Buddhist Centre and walked round the lake. We stopped on a bench for a while and the view was so pretty!
We went out in York on Saturday night which was the first time I’d properly been on a night out since I finished Uni in June! We had so much fun and I swear the people in York were so much nicer than the people I’m used to in clubs at uni!

On Sunday, we went into York to get breakfast. Our plan was to stop in Brew and Brownie to get some cake but as it was so busy, we popped into Bailey’s Tea Room next door and after that, we were too full for anything else! We wandered down the Shambles, saw the Minster and the city wall. When I visited York before, I walked the wall so we didn’t do it this time but it was nice to see it! Before we had to catch our trains home, we relaxed in the Museum Gardens for a while.
These are my favourite pictures from the weekend! It went so quickly and now I have to wait until the end of September to see everyone again. We didn’t spend too much time actually in York but the purpose of our trip was to spend time together which we achieved!
I hope you enjoyed this post – I love to have a nosy at people’s pictures from their trips so if you have any travel posts, feel free to leave a link in the comments as I’d love to read them!
