After a month and a half of solid work, I managed to fit in some day trips and a weekend away! One of the main places I wanted to go was London.
I didn’t visit London too much as a child even though it really isn’t too far from where I live – only an hour and a half on the train! I did some of the tourist bits when I was younger and on this trip, I really wanted to see it all again. The friend I went with goes to London all the time but luckily, she was happy to entertain me for the day!
So, for today’s post, I wanted to share some pictures from my day.
We spent the majority of the afternoon in the Natural History Museum. I’ve always wanted to go (I’d say it was the history student in me but I’ve been wanting to go for ages). If you haven’t been, I highly recommend it! It’s free and there’s so many different parts and it’s really interesting – definitely worth a visit.
My favourite parts were Human Biology and Earthquakes and Volcanoes. We did spend ages in The Vault though. It holds precious gems and crystals which were so pretty to see.
After the Natural History Museum, we popped into the Science Museum but it was so close to closing time that we didn’t have time to properly look around. I got a few pictures but I definitely have to go back and I know my boyfriend will love it so we’ll try to plan another trip!
We wanted to go to Hyde Park (I’ve been to the British Summertime Festival there but that was in 2015) but it had gotten pretty cold (where has the good weather gone!?) and we didn’t have long before our train. We decided to get the tube to Westminster and see the main tourist attractions.
After this, we went for food and cocktails at Las Iguanas and made our way home – I introduced my friend to That 70’s show on the train back!
That concludes my pictures from my day in London. Although we didn’t have that long, I really enjoyed spending time in the city and I hope I can spend more time there soon!
If you have any other suggestions for things to do in London, feel free to leave a comment!
