Today I wanted to review the Rimmel London #Insta Fix and Go Setting Spray. I haven’t actually tried any setting sprays before so I was really excited to find this affordable one. I wasn’t sure how long to use it for before I had a well-rounded opinion on it but I’ve been using it every day for about three weeks now.
I got this for £5 as there was an offer on but it retails for £6.99. Although I got it cheaper, I think this is a decent price and would definitely pay that for the product. I’ve used it every day since I bought it.
The bottle says that it can be applied after make-up as a setting spray or before make-up as a primer. I’ve worn this both ways but I definitely prefer it as a setting spray. I’ve been using the Rimmel London Fix & Perfect primer for over a year now and this is so much better than the spray as a primer. That might be personal preference because it feels more like a moisturiser and something for the make-up to stick to – the spray is a liquid and I felt like it didn’t really do much.
However, it’s brilliant as a setting spray! The bottle says to spray 8 inches away from your face and in a circular motion. I usually use about 5 sprays which covers my whole face. It smells of cucumber which I really like and gives quite a refreshing feeling after covering my face in make-up!
I have to say that it doesn’t keep my face very matte, which is what I usually like, but by the end of the day, my make-up is still in place so it does fulfil its purpose! It also says that you can use it throughout the day to revitalise but I haven’t tried this yet. I like the result it has after the initial spray in the morning so I don’t know if it’s necessary to use it again.
I don’t have any other references to compare this spray to but for the first one I’ve used, I can see a difference in the staying power of my make-up. Overall, I think this is a good product as it does what it’s supposed to do. Also, its so affordable and definitely worth the money.
If you have any other suggestions of setting sprays I should try, leave them in the comments! I’d love to try something new.
